Self-Evaluation Report (2004)

The University's Self-Evaluation Report (SER) was the principal component of its application for DETC accreditation in August 2004.

Designed to provide the DETC Examining Committee with a snapshot of who we are, how we operate and where we are going, the SER focused solely on off-campus courses, as the DETC is not able to accredit off-campus research degrees.

The SER is divided into thirteen sections, incorporating an Institutional Profile and twelve Standards for Accreditation:

  1. Institutional Mission and Objectives
  2. Educational Program Objectives, Curricula, and Materials
  3. Educational Services
  4. Student Services
  5. Student Achievement and Satisfaction
  6. Qualifications of Owners, Governing Board Members, Administrators, Instructors/Faculty, and Staff
  7. Admission Practices and Enrolment Agreements
  8. Advertising, Promotional Literature, and Recruitment Personnel
  9. Financial Responsibility
  10. Tuition Fee Policies, Collection Procedures, and Refunds
  11. Plant, Equipment, and Record Protection
  12. Research and Self-Improvement.

Deakin's SER was prepared in consultation with academic and general staff across the University.
