Synopsis:

This is one of three chapter-writing retreats that will be held this year at the beautiful Warrnambool campus. It’s ideal for candidates who have drafted or partially drafted a chapter of their thesis that they want to work on and have critiqued by others, away from the normal distractions of their home or work environments. Participants at the retreat will also be asked to review a draft chapter written by another participant.

If you want to have your draft chapter read and critiqued by a Deakin staff member ahead of the retreat, you must submit it to Brona O’Brien before 12 noon on Friday 28 June.

The workshop will run from after lunch on Thursday to mid-day on Sunday at the Warrnambool campus, with most meals provided. (Warrnambool is about a 3½ hour car or train trip from Melbourne, or 2 hours from Geelong.) The campus and the event provide a conducive environment to get some solid writing done.

All students are required to arrange their own accomodation. You may like to try:

	www.midcitywarrnambool.com.au/ or

 www.bestwestern.com.au/tudor

Both these hotels are close to the University

Please note student residence's may be available for the December retreat only

Please submit your chapter to brona.obrien@deakin.edu.au. You will also need to let Brona know if you have any special dietary requirements.
