Round Two applications must be submitted to Research Services via email (arc-submissions@deakin.edu.au) no later that 3 November 2008.
The salary spreadsheet
cannot be updated until the new EBA round is completed. Applicants must
use the figures marked for March 2008 and not make any attempt to
estimate what salaries might be in 2009.
Included below are links to two AusIndustry documents which describe the existing R&D Tax Concession and the new Premium R&D Tax Concession. Organisations entering into a collaboration with Deakin for the support of a Linkage Project grant will be able to use the support for the project as part of their claim for such a tax concession. Details of eligibility and how to claim are included in the documents.

The "Linkage International Funding Rules for funding commencing in 2009" are now available from the ARC website.
Linkage International proposals submitted in 2008 (for funding commencing in 2009) include one round only of Awards, ARC International Fellowships and two Internationally Coordinated Initiatives.
The internal closing times are:

Changes to the Linkage International Funding Rules from the previous year (proposals submitted in 2007) are summarised at Section 2 of the rules. We will provide further notification advising when Application Forms and other relevant documentation become available.

Documentation of the 2009 funding round will be left in place for reference until its replacement is available. Please ensure that you check the date of documents before relying on them for the final submission.

Please supply the application as one merged document, ie please insert the free text sections into the rtf version of the GAMS form which should be validated and error free before downloading using the ‘Print’ option. Note that the merge process may reset your free text to Arial 10 point so it is important to reset that text to the 12 point minimum. PLEASE DO NOT SELECT THE WHOLE FORM TO DO THIS – ONLY THE FREE TEXT SECTIONS.
Section C3 is to be developed in consultation with the DVC(R). Applicants are requested to develop some suggested text illustrating the relationship between their project and the University areas of research strength to which it will contribute. Areas of research strength can be discussed with the DVC(R) and a document identifying these will also be provided.
Please remember to have the separate Certification page ( see link below) completed and signed for submission by 7 November.
Australian Laureate Fellowship candidates must be distinguished researchers who are at the forefront of international research. They must have demonstrated strong leadership and mentoring skills and experience in building research capacity, and should propose ground-breaking research programs likely to deliver significant economic, environmental, social or cultural benefits to Australia.
Our internal close is 21 November.
Applications and inquiries to be submitted via arc-submissions@deakin.edu.au. Applications should be in the form of merged documents incorporating validated GAMS data together with free text sections. Please be careful to observe formatting instructions.
At 30 October 2008 the ALF GAMS form and related Instructions to Applicants have still to be made available but are expected soon.
Submission Update
The Australian Laureate Fellowships application form is currently being finalised and is expected to be released in GAMS by 12 November 2008. To assist candidates with the preparation of their Proposal, the ARC will provide an RTF version of the form and RTF Instructions to Applicants on their website: http://www.arc.gov.au/ncgp/sample_forms.htm
Prospective candidates should begin drafting their proposals using the RTF sample form, the RTF Instructions to Applicants and Australian Laureate Fellowships Funding Rules for funding commencing in 2009 documents.
The ARC will advise the research community via the ARC Web Site and a network message as soon as the application form is available in GAMS. Candidates will then be able to complete the Australian Laureate Fellowships application form in GAMS.
