Deakin Health Economics
Deakin Health Economics undertakes work that informs the efficient allocation of health resources. Our expertise ranges from the design and implementation of economic evaluation and health technology assessment, to economic modelling and priority setting.
Our major economic research areas of expertise include: obesity and diabetes; mental health; chronic disease management; disability; maternal and child health; cardiovascular disease; cancer; and oral health. DHE is commissioned to provide health technology assessments to both the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee and Medical Services Advisory Committee.
Members of our DHE research team deliver the Master of Health Economics course, upholding the teaching-research nexus and providing the opportunity to encourage new researchers into the field of health economics.
The standing of the DHE team is affirmed by 10 years of research activity with an impressive track record in both competitive grants (national and international) and commissioned research.
