Our Micro5 and Micro2.5 probes allow us to image small (< 2.5 cm diameter) samples at 11.75 T using various nuclei including 1H and 7Li. With X, Y and Z gradients, we can extract slices from the sample in all three dimensions and even reconstruct full 3D images. We can also record spectra from specific regions of the sample, down to a voxel size of approximately 1 µm 3.
We are using this capability to study in situ the physical and chemical processes occurring inside electrochemical devices as they are being operated. Additionally, we are developing new methods to reduce distortions and enable faster image acquisition.
