Discovery Projects 2014

Discovery Projects supports research undertaken by individual researchers or research teams and recognises the importance of fundamental research to the national innovation system.  The objectives of Discovery Projects are to:

• support excellent fundamental research by individuals and teams;
• enhance the scale and focus of research in the National Research Priorities;
• expand Australia’s knowledge base and research capability;
• encourage research and research training in high-quality research environments;
• enhance international collaboration in research; and
• foster the international competitiveness of Australian research.

Minimum $30,000 pa Maximum $500,000 pa.( NB based on 2013 amounts)

If requesting a PhD stipend from the ARC, request at $24,653 pa. You may request a higher rate however this would need to be very strongly justified. If stating that Deakin will provide a PhD stipend, enter this as an "in-kind" contribution at $24,653 pa.
