Future Fellowships 2014

This is an additional Future Fellowships round where 150 Fellowships will be awarded. It is anticipated this will be the final time this scheme in its current format will run, and so is expected to be particularly competitive.

The objectives of the Future Fellowships scheme are to:

• attract and retain outstanding mid-career researchers;
• build collaboration across industry and/or research organisations and/or disciplines;
• support research in national priorities that will result in economic, environmental, social, health and/or cultural benefits for Australia; and
• strengthen Australia’s research capacity by supporting innovative, internationally competitive research.

A Future Fellowship may be requested at one of three salary levels. An Administering Organisation may be awarded up to $50,000 of non-salary funding per annum which may be used for infrastructure, equipment, travel and relocation costs directly related to the Future Fellow’s research.

Mandatory

Via RMS Submit to Research Office

1. Read the Funding Rules 2014 and Instructions to Applicants 2014

2. Liaise with your Faculty/Institute to gauge whether you have their support

3. Submit a Nomination Form (to your Faculty/Institute)

4. Wait to see whether Grants Office invites your full application

5. Submit Eligibility request if applicable on RMS and/or Request Not to Assess

6. Commence your online application on RMS

7. Work with your Case Manager and use templates provided

8. Organise relevant certification forms
