The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Lee Astheimer, is pleased to announce the awarding of 18 new Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Fellowships to start in the second half of 2010.
The scheme attracted an outstanding field of applicants from around the world and across a broad range of disciplines.
The quality of applicants was so impressive that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sally Walker, has tripled the funding available to appoint new Fellows.
“I am delighted at the range and quality of applicants that Deakin’s researchers have attracted in this round," said Professor Walker.
Professor Astheimer said: “I am confident that these bright young minds will underpin Deakin’s push to build a vibrant culture in our areas of research strength and assist in putting the University on the international map in research.”
