Dr Paul Francis, a lecturer in chemistry in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, has been successful in gaining a prestigious Future Fellowship.
Dr Francis's project titled “New strategies for highly sensitive chemical detection based on luminescent ruthenium and iridium complexes” will be based jointly in the Institute for Technology Research and Innovation and the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and aligns with the research priorities of The Centre for Biotechnology, Chemistry and Systems Biology SRC.
"This result is very exciting and further reflects the high calibre of Deakin's young researchers and the standard of their applications," said Deakin's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Lee Astheimer.
"They provide a solid foundation on which Deakin can continue to build its research culture and profile. This is an excellent result and I congratulate Paul."
