Deakin University has featured prominently in the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage 2012, Round 2 awards.
The University featured in 10 grants, including one through Curtin University headed up by Professor Svetha Venkatesh from the new Strategic Research Centre, PRaDA.
Professor Venkatesh moved to Deakin at the beginning of 2012.
“I congratulate all the researchers involved,” said Deakin Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Lee Astheimer.
“These results are further proof of the excellent progress Deakin continues to make as a research University.”
ARC Linkage Projects supports research and development projects which are collaborative between higher education researchers and other parts of the national innovation system, which are undertaken to acquire new knowledge, and which involve risk or innovation.
Proposals for funding under Linkage Projects must involve a Partner Organisation from outside the higher education sector. The Partner Organisation must make a significant contribution in cash and/or in kind, to the project that is equal to, or greater than, the ARC funding.
