Description

The equipment in the Thermal Analysis Lab is used examine materials on a whilst heating & cooling them, then measuring their weight, or the energy it takes to heat them or even their mechanical properties by bending or pulling them.

  1. Perkin Elmer Diamond Differential Scanning Calorimeter
    • For the thermal analysis of metal powders
    • Temperature range: 20 to 1600°C
  2. Netzsch 407 PC Luxx Differential Scanning Calorometer
    • For the thermal analysis of polymers
    • Temperature range: -150 to 350°C
  3. TA Instruments Q800 Dynamic Mechanical Analyser
    • For the determination of mechanical properties for visco elastic materials
  4. Micromeritics Tristar
    • Surface Area & Porosity Analyser
