Deakin University is playing a role in getting ride of one of wool's big issues, the itch factor, according to Brian Clancy writing in The Weekly Times.

Researchers, including Deakin's Dr Maryam Naebe from the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM) have been working on the problem for the past four years.

And the weapon which is about to be deployed, writes Clancy, is the Wool Comfortmeter, "a simple table-top device that can sense and detect pesky fibres in a fabric which cause itch".
