Research interests:
Dr McGregor's research is focused on rare natural fibres including cashmere, mohair, wool and alpaca and their fundamental properties and textile quality. He has considerable experience in conducting applied and field experimentation in animal production, particularly the management, husbandry, nutrition, health, fibre production, fibre quality, processing and product marketing of rare natural fibres and associated products. He is a Program leader with the national Sheep Cooperative Research Centre. He has collaborations with a number of overseas scientists. Dr McGregor also has experience in new animal industry development including business and industry strategic planning, farmer and investor decision making, training and technology transfer.
