Information Privacy

Deakin University is subject to the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). This legislation regulates the collection, use and disclosure of personal and health information by the University. Research conducted by Deakin staff and students may involve the collection, use or disclosure of personal or health information.

Researchers must also be aware of professional standards and contractual arrangements, including agreements entered into with sponsors and research participants, which may also limit the use or disclosure of personal information.
