Rare offer available now for young researchers.

Deakin University is offering a rare opportunity for young researchers to fast track their careers through an Australian Postgraduate Award, starting right now.

The University has up to 20 awards available to new Higher Degree by Research candidates who are Australia/New Zealand citizens or have permanent residence.

Successful applicants must have achieved a first class Honours degree or equivalent. Awards are only available to new students who will be commencing a Masters by Research or Doctoral degree in 2012.

Applicants who have previously held an Australian Postgraduate Award for six months or more cannot be considered for another Australian Postgraduate Award.

Benefits and conditions include:

  • A stipend of $23,728 per annum (2012 rate)
  • A relocation allowance up to $1,840 (2012 rate) awarded to students who are moving from interstate or overseas in order to study at Deakin
  • Paid sick, maternity and parenting leave
  • Only an Australian Postgraduate Award can be transferred to another university.
