A salary of $78,146 per annum in year 1 (Level A, Step 6 DU EBA) and $80,967 in year 2 (Level A, Step 7 DU EBA), together with a one-off support grant of up to $10,000.

Background

The Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowships were established to support excellence in research undertaken in areas of research strength at Deakin University. The Fellowships are designed to support early career researchers. Applicants must have an outstanding track record relative to opportunity in order to be short-listed. Successful applicants are expected to be based full-time at the University for the duration of the Fellowship and will be supervised by a University staff member. A Deakin University staff member may only supervise one 2016 Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow but may supervise existing Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellows.

Objectives

  • To recognise early career researchers who demonstrate outstanding track records relative to opportunity
  • To support talented early career researchers whose areas of research interest directly align with research priorities at Deakin University
  • To further innovative research in areas of strategic importance across the spectrum from discovery to industry focussed research
