- About Deakin
The DRL program has been designed to support the strategic research goals of the University.
From 2008, four DRL programs have been introduced in Faculties and Institutes at Deakin University.
Programs in the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Arts and Education have now been completed.
The program that goes across the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (ITRI) will end in April, 2011. The final program, established in the Faculty of Health, Medicine, Nursing and Behavioural Sciences, will end in October, 2011.
The DRL program is expected to make a significant contribution to the ability of Faculties and Institutes to attract and retain good researchers and to meet the targets in the University’s Research and Research Training Plan, 2008-2012.
The programs are coordinated by the Director, Staff Research Development who works closely with the Associate Deans (Research), Associate Heads (Research) and the research directors of Institutes to identify appropriate mentors for selected mentees, and to organise seminars and research retreats that support mentees in meeting their research objectives.
