A robot designed by researchers in the Centre for Intelligent Systems Research (CISR) at Deakin University has helped Victorian police end a siege in suburban Melbourne.

During the 44-hour siege that ended with the arrest of Chris "Badness" Binse, police used an OzBot to enter the property in which Binse was holed up with his girlfriend.

OzBot is normally used by the Bomb Response Group Victoria Police.
