ADRI researcher in 'population' demand!
The XXVII IUSSP International Population Conference was held in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 26 - 31 August and included over 2000 scientific papers presented in 270 regular sessions, 4 poster sessions, and 4 plenary sessions on topics in 21 themes including reproductive health, mortality, longevity and health, population ageing, migration, union formation and marriage, as well as themes addressing the interrelationship between population, development and the environment. The IUSSP International Population Conference organized once every four years is one of the biggest population conferences in the world, particularly in the field of population studies/ demography.

Santosh also served as a discussant to the session on Subjective health of older population (Session 115, Wednesday, August 28th 2013, 13:30pm).
As if that wasn't enough, she has recently published her co-authored article 'Migration and Pacific Mortality: Estimating Migration Effects on Pacific Mortality Rates Using Bayesian Models' in Demography. Using hierarchical Bayesian modelling, this paper advanced methodology for handling sparse data set, thus, helping understanding of the health of ethnic minorities which were hampered by small cell numbers.

Broad in coverage, global in scope, Demography is a leading journal in its discipline, one of the most cited journals in 2011 and 2012 and characterized by the highest methodological standards for population-based research.
