Researchers undertaking projects connected with Barwon Health are being encouraged to submit applications for a range of awards that will be announced during the Smart Geelong Network’s Research Week (10-14 November).
The awards include: a Research Week Poster Competition; HMO research prizes; and a Scientists’ Research Prize.
Entries for these Health Awards are open until 1 October, 2014.
The Poster Competition aims to highlight research, clinical audit and service, or quality improvement activities undertaken at, or in conjunction with, Barwon Health.
This Competition has seven categories, with prizes of $500 each, including: Early Career; Basic Science; Service Delivery / Health Systems; Health Outcomes / Clinical Practice; Population Health; Clinical Research; and an Audience Choice Award.
Shortlisted applicants will be eligible to give a five-minute overview of their research.
The HMO competition is open to the Junior Medical Workforce at Barwon Health, including interns, HMOs and registrars, as well as 3rd and 4th year Deakin medical students undertaking research with medical staff at Barwon Health.
The Scientists’ Research Prize aims to encourage new researchers (less than five years post-doctorate), who are undertaking research in conjunction with Barwon Health.
Barwon Health is a long-time supporter of Research Week and has a close relationship with Deakin, providing education and research resources locally, nationally and internationally.
This competition is part of "Smart Geelong Week" that will culminate in the "Researcher of the Year" Awards, which will be presented on November 14.
