Applicants are being sought for Deakin's Neil Archbold Memorial Travel Awards.

Masters by Research and PhD students wishing to undertake research-related travel are encouraged to apply for Deakin University’s Neil Archbold Memorial Travel Awards and Medal Scheme.

The awards acknowledge “outstanding peer-reviewed journal articles” and each year one candidate is selected from the Humanities and Social Sciences, and one from the Science disciplines. Recipients receive $3000, to fund research-related travel during their candidature.

Research-related travel is required to be directly related to the applicant's project and should enhance the final research outcome (i.e. the quality of the thesis, or assist in the dissemination of findings) and/or development of the research area (such as the production of further publications).

Examples of suitable international research activities include: fieldwork/data collection; conference presentations; archival work; and visiting laboratories or other academic/research institutions.

The Neil Archbold Memorial Awards were created in honour of Professor Neil Archbold, an eminent scholar who was actively involved in all facets of research and research training at Deakin University.

Applicants must have completed at least 12 months (full-time equivalent) research degree candidature at Deakin University by the closing date: 5pm, 31 July 2015.
