Professor Damien Kingsbury has been invited by the Department of Defence to participate in a closed roundtable discussion of the future of Australia's strategic relationship with Indonesia. This invitation follows his publication of a policy paper on Indonesia for the Australian Strategic Research Institute earlier this year. Professor Kingsbury will focus on the future of the strategic relationship in the period after incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono leaves office in 2014, under which Australia has enjoyed positive bilateral relations.

Professor Kingsbury will also be meeting with the Australian ambassador to Timor-Leste, HE Miles Armitage, during his brief mid-term visit to Australia, to discuss strengthening Australia-Timor-Leste bilateral relations.
