The Project Grants Scheme is the NHMRC's main avenue of support for individuals and small teams of researchers undertaking biomedical, public health and health services research in Australian universities, medical schools, hospitals and other research institutions.

How to apply

  1. Liaise with your faculty/institute.
  2. If invited, submit a Notice of Intention to Submit (NOIS) form by email to
  3. Read the Funding Rules and Instructions to Applicants
  4. Submit your DR-Grants review cover page, Synopsis, Research Proposal and Team Quality & Capability for internal review.
  5. Commence your application in the NHMRC Research Grants Management System - RGMS.
  6. Contact DR-Grants NHMRC team if you have any queries. 
  7. Organise relevant Certification form and consents.
