Project News

This year's News Day deadline will be Friday 1 November. We hope as many schools as possible will be able to upload a report and we will link these together through our interactive map so that we can all see each other's stories.

Here's a quick checklist of things to do before News Day:
  • Decide your story ideas and work out what you'll film and who you'll interview
  • Work out who is going to do what. You may need presenters, story producers, reporters, writers, camera operators, video editors and IT producers.
  • Get the participation agreements signed and returned to Deakin - download now.
  • If you haven't received a visit from a DSNN mentor contact the DSNN team to arrange this.
  • Work out how to use your DSNN posters, stickers, microphone cube and other materials. If you haven't received your DSNN materials yet, contact the DSNN team. We've made this video to give you some ideas about these.
  • Start filming!! Keep in mind our tips on filming
  • For schools that use iPads, we've also just made this video with some tips.

We're hoping to finalise dates very soon for students who take part in the project to come to our Burwood campus for a special Media Day, some time in November. Watch this space for an update very soon.

Good luck with your reports!!
