An impressive history of architectural graduates educated in Geelong exists since 1887.a+b Alumni members include everyone who began their studies at the School of Architecture, Gordon Institute of Technology, which moved to Waurn Ponds campus around 1973.
In 1977 we became Deakin University and in 1996, the School relocated to the Woolstores campus as the School of Architecture and Building. The Woolstores campus was later renamed the Waterfront campus. School initiated reunions held in Singapore (1999), Kuala Lumpur (2000) and Waterfront (2001) aimed to re-establish and unite national and international links. The response received from international alumni members confirmed the existence of strong and supportive alumni who have expressed gratitude and appreciation for the personal gesture and affirmation of the School's presence.
The two strands of alumni within the a+b Alumni, that is architecture and construction management are united in its vision and in its membership database. Each strand of alumni may from time to time hold its own target events, although all member of the alumni community regardless of strand are welcome to participate equally in any alumni event.
