How to copy large format documents in the resource centre
This is a cost plus service. Prices are available at the Resource Centre.
The following diagram represents the interface of the document scanner. All terms referred to in this document will be labelled on the diagram.

How to feed your document
Place your document face down, aligned at the right hand side.
You can feed your document landscape UNLESS you need to scale it. If you require scaling you must feed it in portrait mode. See below for help pertaining to scaling.
When you want to remove your document simply press the Stop key (Red Button)
Picking which printer to use
The following steps allow you to pick which printer you wish to print to, id est. the black and white or the colour.
- If not already at the home menu, press the Upper-left softkey (top left button) marked as home to get there.
- Press the Upper-right softkey (top right button) and you will be able to choose which printer you want, press it again to change to the other printer.
- It will take 30 seconds or so to change over.
Paper types
If you have a transparency or photo then you should select transparency or photo respectively from the Left softkeys marked as Original Type.
Scaling/Stepping
When attempting to scale you MUST feed the document in portrait mode. There are two different ways to scale. To Fit/Step or Custom/Percentage. You should use To Fit if you require scaling to a different known paper size, eg. A3 to A2. You should use Custom when you want to scale to a percentage.
To Fit/Step
You MUST feed the document in portrait mode.
- When attempting to scale you should select Scale from the Left softkeys.
- If you require scaling to a different paper size use the scroll wheel to select To Fit.
- Then press the scroll wheel key.
- The To Fit menu will appear.
- Use the scroll wheel to select the paper size you require.
- Select Close from the Lower-right softkey
Custom/Percentage
You MUST feed the document in portrait mode.
- When attempting to scale you should select Scale from the Left softkeys.
- If you require Custom scaling use the scroll wheel to select Custom.
- Then press the scroll wheel key.
- The Custom menu will appear.
- Either use the scroll wheel to select the appropriate percentage or type it in using the numeric keys
- Select Close from the Lower-right softkey
Basic 1:1 scanning/printing walkthrough
- If the display on the scanner is turned off press the Start key (Green Button)
- If the display is turned on press the Upper-left softkey (Home) this is a good practice to maintain because the settings the previous person used may be different from what you want.
- Select Line Drawings from the Left softkeys.
- Feed your document as per the above section “How to feed your document”
- Verify that the Original Type is set to Lines & Text. If you have a different document type eg. a transparency then change it as per the instructions above for “Paper Types”.
- Verify that your scale is 1:1. If you need a different scale see the “Scaling/Stepping” section above.
- Press the Start key (Green Button) only when you are sure the settings are correct.
- When the document has finished scanning press the Stop key (Red Button) to release it.
