The laser online booking system consists of several parts.3
Registration – So the system knows who will be making the booking.
Logon – This is the process of login to the system.
Availability - This is to show which machine is not booked for the requested time the user wants.
Booking – This is the process to make a laser booking.
Note:- This only needs to be done once.
Step 1.
From the website http://thor.its.deakin.edu.au/bookings/ you need to click the Register link.

This is because in order to use the system the system must know who you are.
Step 2.
The registration screen will appear.

Fill-in your details as requested.
Your Login should be your Deakin Username.
Your Password can be anything you will remember.
Your contact Phone numbers are for the laser operators to be able to contact you.
Step 3.
Click OK.
The following information will be displayed.
Please click Here to enter the Workshop Booking System.

If you have already registered then type in your username and password and click OK.
If you have not registered then click the register link and follow the Registration process.

Step 1.
Ensure the year is the current year required. By default it is the current year.
Step 2.
Choose which Laser you are interested in either Laser 1,2 or 3. (see above screenshot)
Where the Laser are:
Laser 1 – is the small Universal laser with bed size of 600mm x 400mm
Laser 2 – is the large Universal laser with bed size of 1200mm x 600mm
Laser 3 – is the large Chinese laser with be size of 1200mm x 1400mm
Step 3.
Ensure the week # is correct (it will automatically be the current week by default).
Step 4.
Click the “SHOW” button.
You will be presented with the main window displaying the week view. Blue areas are non booked periods while green areas are booked times.
This is the main process of making a booking of a laser for the workshop.
PLEASE NOTE:- THE WORKSHOP IS CLOSED BETWEEN 1:00PM AND 2:00PM EVERYDAY FOR LUNCH. ANY BOOKING MADE AT THIS TIME WILL NOT BE GRANTED.

Step 1.
Under the heading Bookings select the START time you wish.
By default it will be the current date.
Step 2.
Under the heading Bookings select the END time you wish.
By default it should be an hour later than the start time as hour bookings are being used.
Step 3.
Click the SEARCH button under the Bookings heading.
This will display what lasers are available during the times requested.
Step 4.
Next to the chosen laser click the BOOK IT button.

Step 5.
The following screen will appear.
Ensure the start time matches your requirements.
Ensure the end time is correct.
Under the remarks area list the following items
How many sheets you will be cutting?
What material will you be cutting?
Are you supplying your own materials?

Step 6.
Click the OK button.
You have now made a booking on the system.
You should turn up at the workshop 10 minutes prior to your booking start time.
If you arrive late there is no guarantee that a laser will be available to complete your job.
Step 7.
Click the disconnect button.

This will log you out of the system.
