Sara has worked at the University of Melbourne and Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. She is a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). She graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Surveying from the University of Greenwich, London. Sara completed an MPhil at the University of Salford in 1995 examining conceptual understanding of green buildings within the UK construction industry and in 2002 she finished an MA in Social Science Research Methods. Sara is currently completing her PhD at Deakin. She has published many refereed conference and journal papers. Sara co-edited Best Value in Construction and has written ‘A Greener Home’, published in (2008) with Richard Reed. Sara is due to publish through Taylor and Francis the 5th Edition of Property Development in July 2008 and has also co-authored a chapter in the 2008 Blackwell text Advanced Research Methods on the application of feminist research within the built environment discipline. Her research interests include environmental issues, sustainable refurbishment and historic building repair. Sara is a member of the editorial boards of Structural Survey journal and the International Journal of Housing Market and Analysis and Vice Chair Commission 10 Construction Management Construction Economics of FIG (International Federation of Surveyors).
