The course

Bachelor of Design (Architecture)

Geelong Waterfront Campus.

Architecture at Deakin opens doors to future careers in Australia and overseas. Deakin Architecture graduates work in China, Dubai, Oslo, Berlin, the Middle East, Malaysia, the UK, the US and many other places. Many students are employed during their courses and graduates are given opportunities to play leading roles in teams designing and managing large projects.

Studying architecture from day one, Deakin students become sought-after built environment professionals who are able to cross professional boundaries.

Deakin’s Architecture program comprises two degrees taken over five years: the three-year Bachelor of Design (Architecture) followed by the two-year Master of Architecture.

At Deakin, students learn to explore ideas imaginatively, to develop their own potential to design beautiful environments for private and public living. Sustainable architecture is essential for cities to provide for the future. Deakin’s special research in this area supports the Architecture program.

Architecture students at Deakin have the distinct advantage of taking some classes with Construction Management and Facilities Management students, where they learn to work with allied professions in the building industry from an early stage. This experience equips students with the skills for working effectively in professional life.

Combined course and Master of Architecture (Design)

Deakin offers the distinctive threedegree program of Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management/Master of Architecture (Design) taken over six years. It is available to the highest ENTER-scoring students and its graduates are likely to be offered extremely lucrative careers in the built environment field with many options in areas of architecture and project management.
