Bachelor of Property and Real Estate

Melbourne Campus at Burwood.

Deakin’s three-year Property and Real Estate course provides knowledge and skill development in property valuation, real estate practice, property economics and urban development, with specialisation options in either business or built environment disciplines. It aims to equip students with an understanding of the legalities, principles and processes for a professional role in this field and an appreciation of a professional ethic which emphasises responsibility and responsiveness to community needs.

Property and Real Estate is based at Deakin’s Melbourne Campus at Burwood. The campus is in close proximity to the Melbourne CBD and is at the demographic heart of the Melbourne Metropolitan Area. It provides a well-stocked library and state-of-the-art computing facilities, as well as recreational facilities and student accommodation.

Hands-on learning

The course focuses on practical experience and project work that relates theory to practice. Graduates will have the opportunity to acquire a range of important business skills, enabling them to practise effectively in the context of modern commercial realities.

Study options

The Property and Real Estate course combines the expertise of Deakin’s faculties of Science and Technology and Business and Law to provide a distinctive curriculum with a range of options for specialisation. In third year, students have the choice of a major in business management, marketing or facilities management, providing a diverse range of career opportunities.
