Your student identification card is known as your Deakin Card. Your Deakin Card is the accepted form of identification as a Deakin student. It also provides you with your library borrower number (at the bottom of the card), which you will need to use when you access the online borrowing systems.

All vehicles Parking on Deakin University Campuses between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday require a current parking permit, with the exception of a limited number of free parking spaces at the Geelong and Warrnambool campuses.

The Deakin Online Portal is your point of access to Deakin’s extensive online environment, where you have access to personalised information, facilities and services pertinent to your life as a Deakin student and member of the Deakin community. You can also access the portal by selecting Current students from the menu on the Deakin website.

It is important that you activate your Deakin email account and regularly check for mail. The University will use email to communicate with you on a wide range of matters. To activate your Deakin account and password go to http://www.deakin.edu.au/password/
If you prefer to access an email account other than your Deakin account you can do so by using the Email Forwarding Facility on the website at http://www.deakin.edu.au/its/mail/

As a Research Student you can be issued with a key and access pass for your work area. Your request for a key and access pass needs to be authorized by either Prof Chris Gray, Dean or one of the staff members listed below.

If you come onto campus and you need urgent assistance from the security staff, contact them by dialling 222 from the internal white phones located around the campus. You will need to tell Security who you are, where you are and what the problem is. Security staff will provide an escort to the car parks and to the bus stop. Security can be contacted at any time.
