Initiative for a Girls’ Network in Information Technology & Engineering @ Deakin

A scholarship and mentoring program for female Engineering and Information Technology students

Australia is currently experiencing a skills shortage of engineering and IT graduates. This skills shortage will only worsen in coming years. Female students account for less than 25% of IT graduates and less than 15% of engineering graduates. Deakin wants to attract more top female students to our courses.

Bachelor of Information Technology

Streams in Multimedia Technology, Web and Mobile Technologies, Games Design
and Development, IT Security, Computer Science and Software Development

Bachelor of Engineering

Streams in Mechatronics and Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics
$10 000 scholarship available for best female entrant in each stream

Comprehensive mentoring program with older students, industry mentors and academic staff to:
– provide a caring environment
– assist with progression in course
– assist with transition to workforce
