Science and Technology Dean's Scholars Program

The Dean's Scholars Program aims to recognise, reward and nurture high achieving students. Scholarships will be awarded annually across the Faculty to applicants who have recently completed Year 12 and who have been admitted through VTAC. Students are able to select any one of the undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Science & Technology (Architecture and Construction Management, Environment, Engineering, Information Technology and Science) on their preferred Deakin campus through a single VTAC preference.

Geelong Waterfront - VTAC Code 15241

Each scholarship is worth $5000 per annum, paid half yearly, provided that the student is enrolled full-time and maintains a high level of academic achievement each semester. Scholarship recipients will be assigned an academic mentor who will provide support throughout the student's course of study. Dean's scholars will also be offered a professional development program and have a high chance of being selected for the Science & Technology Industry-based Learning (IBL) program.

Please note that there is a two staged application process. Applicants must first apply for the program through VTAC and then also make a direct application to the Faculty using the DSP Application Form.

Application Process

  1. VTAC application: Include the Science & Technology Dean's Scholars Program VTAC code in the list of course preferences (this can be done during the change of preference period), and
  2. Supplementary Information Form: Complete and return the DSP Application Form to the Faculty of Science & Technology. Please note you should receive an acknowledgement within 48 hours.

Selection Criteria
