It’s not every day you get to build a giant catapult and not get in to trouble for firing it! Year 10 students from the Geelong region and Warrnambool are invited to take part in the 2011 Science and Engineering challenge that will see them design, create and build a variety of projects.

Deakin University's Faculty of Science and Technology offers a range of seminars to secondary schools. These seminars aim to stimulate the interest of VCE students with the latest information in specialist fields of study in Science and Technology.
A range of interesting topics covering design, architecture and built environment, engineering, physics, environmental science, information technology, mathematics, science, biology and chemistry have been designed with the VCE curriculum in mind. The talks are offered to schools in metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong and the surrounding region. There are no costs to schools for our Seminars for Schools Program.
If you are interested in a visit and your school is located further afield, we would be happy to discuss the possibility of a combined school visit in your region.
The 2012 program is currently being developed. If you would like to receive a visit, please email scitech-seminars@deakin.edu.au or phone Leonie Keilour on (03) 9244 6483. We look forward to visiting your school.
