My research profile can be summarized as "Evolutionary strategies in animals, using fishes as model
systems". I am especially interested in reproductive behaviours and animal colour patterns. Currently, I
am working together with Prof. John Endler investigating the roles of evolutionary exaggeration and
innovation in the colour patterns of male guppies (Poecilia reticulata).

Research interests

  1. Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology.
  2. Reproductive behaviours and behavioural strategies in marine and freshwater fishes.
  3. Animal coloration, colour signals, chromatophores and carotenoids.
