Master of Construction Management (Professional)
Deakin's postgraduate construction management courses provide you with understanding, knowledge and skills that can be applied in a variety of roles in construction management, project management and quantity surveying.
The courses can open the door to a professional career, whether you have significant experience working in a professional role in the industry, or have an undergraduate degree in construction management or another field.
You will undertake exciting, industry-relevant, case-based learning in off-campus mode. Teaching is led by academic experts in their field and underpinned by innovative research, combined with input from leading-edge practitioners.
The program focuses on sustainability and its economic, social and environmental principles within the construction management and quantity surveying professions. It builds on this theme in an urban context and includes aspects of climate change adaptation strategies that built environment professionals can apply.
The broad-based intake into the courses gives you the opportunity for multidisciplinary engagement with your peers in the industry and the off-campus teaching mode offers both flexibility and the opportunity to study with students from all over the world.
Deakin's postgraduate courses in construction management can enable you to:
- improve your professional skills, particularly related to construction project management and construction economics;
- develop an understanding of how the various built environment professions can collaborate to deliver and operate more sustainable projects;
- be aware of existing approaches and emerging trends and practices in quantity surveying and commercial construction management;

The Master of Construction Management (Professional) will extend the specialised construction management skills and attributes obtained in the Master of Construction Management.
Flexibility
The postgraduate construction management courses are taught through flexible delivery to enable you to fit your studies in with your workplace and personal commitments.
The courses are available fully off campus, requiring no attendance at Deakin. Examinations are held in a large number of sites around Australia and the world.
Study materials are provided by online technologies using CloudDeakin, Deakin University's online teaching and learning environment. Regardless of where you live, resources can be accessed from our comprehensive online collection.
Students in the construction management program have regular access to the teaching staff as well as student chat groups and text and multimedia resources. The University has also produced its own Deakin Learning Toolkit software to support online communication.
Both the Master of Construction Management and Master of Construction Management (Professional) have been designed to give you the opportunity to exit with a Graduate Certificate of Construction Management or Graduate Diploma of Construction Management. (Please note: these are exit options only.)

The Master of Construction Management is professionally accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
