This page explains how and allows you to upload to the School of Architecture and Built Environment OCÉ large format printer and check the status of the job.

Please scroll through and read all of the information on this web site before attempting to print.

Pricing

Two different paper stocks are available. 90 GSM bond and 160 GSM high quality matte.

There are two tiers of pricing, line drawing and poster, based on the amount of toner laid.
Printing staff will make the determination as to whether your print is a line drawing or a poster.

Printing Times

The Tech Services open hours are 10am-12pm and 1:30pm-3pm weekdays. Prints can be submitted via this webpage at any time.

Jobs submitted after 4pm will be available for pickup the following weekday.

The printing queue will be checked ~ every 30 minutes and completed jobs will be brought over to the student hub soon after.

Prints are normally available for pickup within an hour.

What you can upload

You can only upload PDF files to the printers.

The printers can print to the following paper sizes: A2,A1,A0

How to upload a PDF

There a several steps involved with uploading a document.

1. Opening the document in the Adobe PDF Reader and verifying the physical print size of the document.
2. Uploading the document to the printer
3. Filling out the web form so we can contact you if there are any problems.

1.
>> Open the file you wish to print in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
>> Left click on the file menu, and select "document properties" or "properties"
>> At the lower left of the window you will see "page size" The units next to this represent the paper size.
>> See the table below for standard paper sizes.

>> Click the large format printer link below
>> Select "Create new job" from the "Publisher Express" section
>> Type your first and last name into the "Job owner" box in the right hand "workflow" pane
>> Left click "Add file" and then left click "Choose File" and select your PDF file that you wish to submit.
>> Left click "OK" You will notice your PDF is added to the document list.
>> If you wish to submit more than 1 file simply click on "Add File" again.
>> It is recomended that if you want more than 1 copy of an individual file you simply upload the document as many times as you need it. The "Number of sets" option in the right hand pane will duplicate ALL documents not just the selected document.
>> If you your documents are A1 or larger and you would like to print on the 160gsm Matte paper, then simply select "LFM098 Top Color 160" in the "Media" dropdown list in the left hand pane.
>> When you are ready left click on the "Ok" button at the bottom of the left hand pane.
>> If you have a large PDF you will notice the "Submitting Job" progress bar at the bottom left of the applet.

>> After you have uploaded your job you need to fill out the Submission Details Form below.
>> This form emails your details to an A+B staff member so that we can contact you to let you know your print is ready or if there is a problem with your print job.
>> If you don't fill out this form your job will not be printed.
>> The form requires the following information:

  • Your NAME
  • Your EMAIL ADDRESS
  • Your DEAKIN USERNAME

The other fields are optional but it is recommended that you fill them out to enable staff to print your work correctly and on time.

Where to collect and pay for your print

After receiving an email stating that your print is ready for pickup, you can collect your print at the Student Hub. Payment options at the Student Hub are Deakin Card and EFTPOS. The Student Hub does not accept cash.
