Master of Networking and Security
Deakin's Master of Networking and Security is an interdisciplinary course that covers network computing, information systems, cryptography, ubiquitous computing, digital forensics and law.
You will gain the advanced skills needed to successfully design, maintain and manage network infrastructure and applications; to effectively secure network infrastructure, information systems and assets, and to investigate any network and information security breaches through digital forensic techniques.
By undertaking postgraduate study in two related fields that are widely recognised as critical to the successful provision of IT infrastructure, you will be able to effectively support the achievement of strategic business goals.
The features of the course will provide you with a unique learning opportunity that balances in-depth theory with practical, hands-on skills.
As part of the course you have the opportunity to gain highly sought after industry certifications - the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) in the networking field and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in the security field, in conjunction with relevant work experience.
A number of units can be taken off campus, providing you with greater flexibility to fit your studies in with workplace and personal commitments.
Also, the course has been designed so you have the opportunity to exit with a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology or a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology. (Please note: these are exit options only.)
