Received his BSc(CivilEng) from Baghdad Uni(IRAQ1982), MSc&PhD(StructuralEng) from Cardiff Uni
(UK1990). Since 1990 lecturing for Structural Eng, Supervising MSc & PhD research students. In
parallel offering consultations for lead construction projects in IRAQ. Visiting academic & honorary
associate to the Civil Eng Dept, Monash Uni(AUST2005). Engineering Manager for Cosulting firm in
Bahrain(2006-10). Member of ASCE, IEAust. Awarded research fellowship(AUST2005), Excellenc in
teaching(IRAQ2001).

Research interests

  1. CFRP composites for sustainable structures
  2. Structural applications of CFRP composites using Fibre Optic Sensors
  3. Behaviour and strength of Steel-Concrete-Timber composite structures
