| Bernard has completed a combined BEc/BEng(hons) and a PhD (Engineering) at the ANU. Bernard has been a faculty member of the School of Engineering since 2005, where he lectures in Mechanical Engineering. Bernard's research focusses on the forming of advanced materials into lightweight structures. He has been a part of over ten successful competitive large research grants, totalling over $5 million.
