Tim Harvey
Internship at Deakin University

Tim Harvey graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Multimedia Technology) degree at Deakin University Burwood in 2011.

In the final year of his studies, Tim was offered the opportunity for industry placement within the Multimedia Department at the School of Information Technology (SIT), Deakin University Burwood. His role was to join a team working on a series of animations which provided information about Traditional Chinese Medicine. The project members were divided into teams and Tim was selected to work on the animation projects audio production team.

The major task he was involved in was the production of the character voices for the project which consisted of 12 short animation stories. The audio for each story was recorded, edited and mixed before being delivered to the animators.

One of the highlights of the project for Tim was the chance to work with a variety of extremely talented people all of whom experts in their chosen fields. Working within the project team gave him insight into the processes used to create large scale multimedia projects, as well as opened his eyes to some previously held beliefs on how large group corporate projects are completed.

Overall Tim found the experience both challenging and rewarding.
