The School is ambitious in its scope, encompassing a wide range of disciplines from biomedical science to environmental management. These two fields are at the ends of a continuum which has at its central point the biology of living organisms. Our breadth also means that our Research Program, which attracts about Four million dollars annually, can focus on national research priorities that are important for the future social, economic and environmental development and well-being of Australia and the world. Much of our research is conducted in partnership with government departments, industry and leading international scientists, and are funded by nationally and internationally competitive granting agencies.
