Tuesday June 19th - Wednesday June 20th (9.30 - 4.30 each day)
Room B2.22 Burwood Campus
This 2 day course for HDR students will cover the principles underlying linear statistical models (regression, ANOVA) and their application using R. Topics to be covered include linear models (regression, ANOVA), generalised linear models (logistic, loglinear, poisson), additive models and a brief introduction to models for correlated data. There will also be an introduction to statistical inference (traditional versus Bayesian) and model estimation (least squares, likelihood, randomisation).
While the course is designed for linear model “beginners”, we will assume a basic familiarity with the R software (i.e. participants have done one of the previous workshops run last year by Andreas, Shinichi or Gerry) and introductory statistical methods. The course will be taught by Gerry Quinn.
Participants will need to provide their own notebook computer with R installed, including the following packages -car, nlme, multcomp, gam, MuMIn, leaps, hier.part, vegan.
Numbers are limited to 30 participants. Please RSVP to Natasha Kaukov (natasha.kaukov@deakin.edu.au) by the end of May. Contact Gerry (gerry.quinn@deakin.edu.au) if you have any queries about the course.
