Ecophysiology, Sensory Ecology and Behaviour
This research group examines, from a wide range of perspectives, the interactions of animals, plants and microorganisms with their environment.
Major research themes include:
- animal behaviour
- behavioural ecology
- evolutionary ecology
- evolutionary genetics
- evolution of vision and visual signals
- ecophysiology of animals and plants
- migration, orientation and animal tracking nutritional ecology, physiological and behavioural responses of animals towards their natural environment
- population genetics
- visual ecology
Members of this group are recognised internationally for their research on fundamental questions in biology and interrelations with the environment.
Our research is based on a strong and continuing engagement with the local community, industry, government and other research institutions and a commitment to the development of new partnerships both nationally and internationally.
This research group is now an integrated part of the Centre For
