Prof. Guang R. Shi was trained as a geologist and palaeontologist, and has more than 20
years reseacrh experience in these fields. He has undertaken geological fieldwork in many
countries and has described marine invertebrate fossils from all major continents except
Africa. Prof. Guang R. Shi has an extensive publication record in the fields of geology,
stratigraphy and palaeontology; he has also published in sedimentology, ichnology (trace fossil studies)
and biogeography.

Research interests

  1. Palaeobiology and Palaeoecology
  2. Biogeography and global change through geological time
  3. Geology, Sedimentology and Stratigraphy
