Faculty Research Publications

HERDC publications - entry into DRO by designated administrative staff only

Categories of output to be reported for the HERDC are:

• Research books (A1);
• Chapters in research books (B1);
• Peer-reviewed journal articles (C1); and
• Peer-reviewed published conference papers (E1).

The Faculty is trialling a new process for the 2011 publications collection. Faculty administrative staff will be contacting authors from late August to commence the collection of 2011 publications that meet the HERDC requirements. Submission process for other publications

Deakin University also collects publication data in many additional categories. The full list of research output categories and definitions for the HERDC and Deakin collection is listed in the current Guide to Reporting Publications, available from the Research Services Publications Forms and Guidelines website.
For these categories the Faculty/IFM submission process is:

• Staff and student authors submit publications directly through DRO. The DRO website provides detailed 'Help' advice for authors.
• Information should be submitted under 'school', 'CMFI', 'ISR' or 'BioDeakin' (not Faculty or IFM).

Reports

Staff, students and visitors can search the University's publication reports by individual researcher or by School or Faculty for a specific year.

New Staff

Staff who are new to Deakin can have their older publications (from 2005 on) added to their record at Deakin. Please contact Sandra Dunoon (sandra.dunoon@deakin.edu.au) for details.

DRO Reports

DRO may be searched by Author, Subject or 'Community/Collection' (includes Schools and the Faculty of Business and Law) as well as by advanced search combinations.
