Science is a practical profession where critical thinking and problem solving is used to find creative solutions to everyday problems. A Deakin science degree can lead you into an exciting career in biology, biomedical science biotechnology, chemistry or forensic science. Bachelor degrees are offered at Deakin in a range of areas:

Biological Science

The vast range of career opportunities open to biological scientists include those within the general health and medical industry (hospital scientists, analytical and diagnostic laboratory scientist, research scientist, pharmaceutical/medical sales representative), food and agriculture-based industries (food microbiologist) and the emerging biotechnology industries.

Biomedical Science

Qualifications in biomedical science open the door to positions in a vast range of health-related industries, such as medical research scientist, genetic engineer, research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical/medical sales representative, pharmaceutical product officer, epidemiologist.

Science

Deakin's Bachelor of Science allows you to start with a broad program then specialise as you progress through the course, developing your interests and career aspirations.

Forensic Science

A forensic science degree is a great way to start a career in science, and in addition to the normal wide range of job opportunities open to science graduates, it opens new doors into fields such as risk analysis, insurance investigation and of course, forensic science.
