Final Unit to Complete

This information is for students enrolled in Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment courses only.

This process is pursuant to Assessment (Higher Education Courses) Procedure

If you are applying for a Science, Engineering and Built Environment unit however you are completing your course in another faculty, you will need to apply to that faculty.

Eligibility

The 'Final Unit to Complete' (FUTC) provision, described in clauses 46-51 of the Assessment (Higher Education Courses) Procedure, offers you the opportunity of a Pass Conceded grade (PC) or Supplementary Assessment where you are one credit point short of completing your degree.

Eligibility for either a PC or Supplementary Assessment are listed below. If you opt to accept a Supplementary Assessment, the outcome you receive is final and you will not be able to apply for an additional Supplementary Assessment or pass conceded in this unit for the trimester in which you studied. Under the provision, students can only choose one or the other.

Applications for a Pass Conceded or Supplementary Assessment are considered by the Faculty Academic Progress and Discipline Committee (FAPDC) of the Faculty in which you are enrolled in a course with, not the Faculty that taught the particular unit you are applying for.
