- About Deakin
Deakin staff and students can connect mobile devices such as laptops, iPads, iPhones and other smartphones, to Deakin's wireless network - eduroam. Staff and students travelling to other eduroam participating institutions need to ensure that their devices are connected to eduroam before they leave.
Visitors to Deakin who are members of eduroam participating institutions are able to connect to eduroam at Deakin, so long as they have configured their devices according to the instructions provided by their home institution. The eduroam for Deakin visitors page provides additional information.
Deakin Setup is an install wizard that will enable you to configure your device and connect to the eduroam wireless network.
The wizard is designed to enable you to connect laptops running the following software, and the following devices:
If you are using software or have a device that is not listed above, you may still be able to connect manually using the generic Wi-Fi configuration data provided for Deakin's eduroam network.
Setup for each type of device varies slightly so for information on how to set up your device see the Wireless networking help sheets.
All Deakin Desktop machines are able to automatically connect to the Deakin wireless network. No additional configuration is required. If you are having problems connecting to the wireless network please contact the IT Service Desk.
However, if you are travelling to another eduroam participating institution you will need to ensure that you are connected to eduroam before you leave.
