Keys/Access Cards

 

Who can obtain a key/access card?

 

The following is a list of people who can obtain a key or access card:
  • University staff
  • Students (conditions apply)
  • Contractors / visitors / lessees (conditions apply)

The policy on keys, access cards and locks is named 'Security Procedure' and can be found on The Guide.

To obtain a key/access card

To obtain a key or access card you must:

View who can authorise a key to your area.

  • Ask the authorised personnel in your Faculty/School/Division for approval.
  • Complete an Online Key Request.

To collect your card you will need to bring your Deakin University identification card. The key will only be issued to the authorised person on the Request for Key/Access card form. Deakin University identification cards are issued at Deakin Central and can be found at:  http://www.deakin.edu.au/dsa/students/customer_service/deakin_central.php

Key/Access card collection

Keys and access cards will be available for collection within 4 working days. You will receive notification via email (if provided on the form) when the key is ready to be picked up.

 

Staff transfer to another Faculty/Division

Keys and aceess cards should be returned to Deakin Central.

Staff who leave the University

All keys and access cards should be returned Deakin Central and then you should notify your supervisor/manager to enable them to record the return on the University Exit Checklist.
